Our Brand New In-House Theater

Cynthia King Dance Studio is pleased to announce that we have completed our in-house theater, offering dancers and their families a true theatrical experience.

Presenting performances in a professional theatrical environment is an important part of both the dancer’s and the audience member’s experience. Our new theater offers state-of-the-art lighting, a versatile performance layout, and seating for as many as seventy people.

Relax before one of our many special in-house performances in our spacious lobby with free wifi, comfortable seating, and refreshments. Just please remember to put your phones away before the show begins. We don’t want anything to distract you or the dancers from their wonderful performances.

Battleground

The energy in the studio was through the roof as dancers from Cynthia King Dance Studio stepped up to battle a crew from the Shorefront Y on Sunday, December 3. The event, presented by CKDS and the Kids Breaking League, featured one-on-one battles as well as the main event, and the crowd cheered on talented dancers from all over the city.

Our dancers showed off what they've been learning in the past few months in a hip hop/breaking class taught by Major King, and we're very proud of the confidence and good sportsmanship that Andre, Emmanuel, Harper, Jeremiah, Kayo, and Kieshawn displayed. Even though we didn't win the battle, our students learned a lot from their first event, and we can't wait to see how they continue to grow, both on and off the dance floor.

Congratulations to the Shorefront Y crew, and thanks to everyone who came out!

Eat Plants. Dance!

Compassionate dancers, wear your heart on your sleeve — literally!

New colors and styles of our incredibly soft, long-sleeved T-shirts are now available. The "Eat Plants. Dance!" shirt is available in both scoop and V-neck versions; and the "Cruelty Free" shirt is available in four colors, including purple.

Whether for you, or as a gift for the dancer in your life, you'll be showing how you're taking a graceful step toward reducing cruelty to animals and improving our environment.

Shop online now, or stop by the studio at 21 Snyder Avenue in Brooklyn (please call 718-521-4043 before visiting for our hours).

How Far Would You Go For Vegan Ballet Slippers?

ck and katrina fox.jpg

People often ask: "Do you sell Cynthia King Vegan Ballet Slippers at the studio, in addition to your online shop?" Yes, we do!

We meet a wide variety of compassionate dancers when they come to the studio for a pair of our slippers, but in the past week we've had quite a few visitors from all over the world. We welcomed dancers from nearby in Brooklyn who needed slippers for their high school dance auditions, but also people from as far away as China, Israel, and Australia.

The Australian was none other than Katrina Fox, who is pictured above with Ms. King. Ms. Fox is the inspiring journalist and media professional behind Vegan Business Media and author of Vegan Ventures, as well as many other works. Ms. King has appeared on her podcast, and they've known each other "virtually" for years, but this was the first time they had an opportunity to meet in person. Thanks for visiting, Ms. Fox!

If you'd like to stop by the studio at 21 Snyder Avenue for a pair of ballet slippers, please call us at 718-521-4043 for our hours. We look forward to meeting you, wherever you're coming from!
