We are pleased to announce the new “Sponsor-a-Dancer” opportunity to provide a talented and at-risk Flatbush child with the chance to attend our elite program.

DONORS WHO GIVE $375 OR MORE RECEIVE STUDENT’S PROFILE AND A SPECIAL RECEPTION TO MEET THEIR SPONSORED DANCER.

SPONSORED DANCERS RECEIVE DANCEWEAR, SIX-MONTHS PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTION, TWO PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES, AND A MEANINGFUL CONNECTION WITH A COMMUNITY MEMBER.

Many eager and hardworking children in Flatbush battle tough circumstances. You can help them broaden their arts education, improve their fitness, and express themselves through dance at CKDS’s state-of-the-art dance studio and theater.

Cynthia King

A professional dancer since 1978, Cynthia King has been teaching and choreographing since 1986. Training extensively at the Boston Conservatory and The Ailey School, King honed her skills under the tutelage of legendary dancers including Emiko and Yasuko Tokunaga, Carmen DeLavallade, Diane McIntyre, and Rod Rodgers (of whose dance company she became a member). She has taught dance in Brooklyn at P.S. 315, Poly Prep, and I.S. 62 in addition to Cynthia King Dance Studio (CKDS).
