Rehearsals and Performances
Q: When will my dancer rehearse and perform?
- Click here for your dancer's rehearsal and performance schedule.
Dancers must arrive 15 minutes prior to their call times and be in full costume and hair, ready to perform / rehearse in order to check-in. (There will be a small changing area in the lobby if you need, but we recommend arriving in costume)
Dancers may not bring any personal belongings with them backstage. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
No food is permitted backstage. Bottled water only.
Dancers rehearsing & performing in the same day must be picked up in between dress rehearsal and their performance call time.
If your dancer can leave the theater alone, please send us an email at info@cynthiakingdance.com.
Q: Do I get to watch rehearsals?
No. Parents are not allowed in the theater during rehearsals on May 9. Parents will not accompany dancers backstage. Staff will be present to supervise dancers.
We will ask for parent volunteers to assist backstage during all dress rehearsals and performances. You may sign up HERE

COSTUMES & HAIR
Costumes will be distributed as they become available.
Everyone will wear the same brand & color of tights we have at the studio. If you do not already have these (tan) tights, you must purchase them from us. Tights with holes are not appropriate for the performance.
DANCERS DO NOT WEAR UNDERWEAR (regardless of dancer's age). A costume and tights are like a bathing suit.
Write your dancer's name inside all costumes, ballet slippers, tights, water bottles and even outdoor shoes. EVERYTHING!
We shoot videos during dress reheasal. Dancers must look exactly the way they will look in the performance. Hair must be neatly tied or braided in a bun, wear proper tights, costumes and ballet slippers, no nail polish, tattoos or jewelry.
Some costumes are yours to keep and some get returned back to the studio. We will let you know which costumes need to be returned.
Dancers needing undergarment support must wear items that are not visible with their costumes. We recommend the following items or something similar:
Q: What about hair and accessories?
For rehearsals AND performances hair must be neatly tied or braided back, close to the head in a bun. No decorative accessories. No beads. Short hair pulled back away from the face. Use gel or hairspray to secure all fly-aways.
No nail polish, nail tips, tattoos, or jewelry anywhere AT ALL! Nail polish, tattoos and jewelry must be removed BEFORE arrival and are not permitted backstage.
Bun help will be available for $10 (cash) click here to RSVP. Those in need of bun help must arrive 30 minutes before their call time. Or if you just need some tips, let us know.
If you would like to volunteer as a bun helper, you can sign-up here (we appreciate volunteers comfortable with a variety of hair textures)
