When will tickets go on sale?

• Pre-Sale Week for CKDS families and friends starts Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 9am EST and ends Saturday, March 9, 11:59pm.
• On Sunday, March 10 at 12:00am ticket sales will open up to our community fanbase.

Where will tickets go on sale?

• Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite. Check back here on Sunday March 3 @ 9am to purchase tickets.

How much do tickets cost?

• Tickets cost $49.50. There is no cap to the amount of tickets you can purchase during pre-sale week. Seating is assigned. Tickets are first come first served and non refundable.

• You may purchase tickets for any of the Spring performances.

• We encourage bringing your dancer to the alternate show.

+ LOCATION

Where will the tech rehearsals and performances take place?

• All rehearsals and performances on April 13 and 14 are held at Kumble Theater (1 University Plz, Brooklyn, NY 11201). There will be no dance classes on those dates.

• There will be a break between rehearsals and performances when your dancer will need to be picked-up.

• There are great local food options for dancers and families during breaks between Rehearsals and Calltimes. Here are some of our recommendations: Next Stop Vegan, LuAnne's Wild Ginger, and a variety of eateries in Dekalb Market.

+ REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCES

Q: When will my child rehearse and perform?

• Click here for your child's rehearsal and performance schedule.

• Students must arrive 10-15 minutes prior to their dress rehearsal start time and be in full costume ready to perform when rehearsal begins.

• For performances, students MUST arrive 1 hour before the show begins.

• Students may not bring any personal or valuable belongings with them backstage. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

• Dancers rehearsing/performing in the same day must be picked up after each rehearsal. Parent volunteers are welcome to assist during breaks.

• If your student can leave the theater alone, please send us an email at info@cynthiakingdance.com.

Q: Do I get to watch rehearsals?

• No. Parents are not allowed in the theater during rehearsals on April 13 & 14. Parents will not accompany dancers backstage. Staff will be present to supervise dancers. Parents are also not allowed to watch the dress rehearsal on March 24.

+ COSTUMES & HAIR

• Costumes will be distributed as they are ready.

• There will be an insert with your dancer's costume indicating which color tights they should wear. You must purchase the correct color if your dancer does not already have them. Tights with holes are not appropriate for the performance.

• If your dancer is wearing a leotard or tutu, THEY SHOULD NOT WEAR UNDERWEAR. A leotard is like a bathing suit.

• Write your dancer's name inside the costumes, shoes and tights. EVERYTHING!

• Dress Rehearsals may be video taped. During dress rehearsal dancers must look exactly the way they will look in performance. Hair must be neatly tied or braided in a bun, wear proper tights, costumes and ballet slippers, no nail polish, tattoos or jewelry.

• Some costumes are yours to keep and some get returned back to the studio. We will let you know which costumes need to be returned.

• Dancers needing undergarment support must wear items that are not visible with their costumes. We recommend the following items or something similar:

• Capezio bra with clear back strap
• Capezio low back camisole leotard
• Capezio convertible bra with clear back strap

Q: What about hair and accessories?

• For rehearsals AND performances hair must be neatly tied or braided back, close to the head (in a bun for ballet dancers). No decorative accessories. No beads. Short hair pulled back away from the face. Use gel or hairspray to secure fly-aways.

• No nail polish, nail tips, tattoos, or jewelry anywhere AT ALL!

+ Important Dates

• Dress Rehearsal for ALL DANCERS on March 24, 12:30-4pm at 1016 Beverly Rd. We will email a time slot for each dancer.

• On March 24, 327 East 5th St will be closed. Classes will not take place. Instead, please see March 24 dress rehearsal information above.

• No classes on March 31 (Easter Sunday).

• Studio Closed: Sunday April 14. We will be at Kumble Theater for dress/tech rehearsal and performances with the entire staff. Regular classes will not be held.

• Regular classes will continue after the performance until June 9 (we will be offsite June 9).

• Classes are in session on Sunday, April 21. No classes from Tuesday, April 23 – Tuesday, April 30 (Spring Break). Classes will resume on Wednesday, May 1.

• Auditions for 2023-24 company levels will take place on Sunday, May 5.

• Registration for 2023-2024 school year classes will begin in late May.
